what happened to my muse?

no, not the sister goddesses of the arts from greek mythology for all of you excited young jack and jills out there, but the extraordinary english rock band who blows minds along with speakers at their ultra-energetic and very entertaining shows. why do i ask what happened to them? well i will enlighten you. their previous albums contained music which i almost considered to be dark or sinister, in a cuddly sort of way of course. songs such as supermassive black hole, knights of cydonia, and time is running out defined muse. they could be mysterious, dark, and even be an outlet for all you rockers out there, and they always seemed to let their madness show through, which is always desirable and maybe even essential for great bands. but their newest album "The Resistance" (2009) feels almost sickeningly inspiring. i have to be honest that i haven't quite listened to the entire thing through, and i actually HAVE enjoyed a lot of the songs that i have listened to. the only problem with this is that i don't enjoy listening to them in the way that i like to enjoy listening to muse. i no longer feel like they empathize with my problems or that i would like to take on a horde of zombies attacking the salt lake valley when i listen to them. old muse made me feel like everything in my life was wrong, but i liked it that way because everything being wrong and difficult aroused my normal life and gave it some spice and passion. new muse makes me feel like things are wrong but its ok because "love will be our resistance". (oh not to mention the album artwork for all of their old stuff is brilliant, including the very scandalous, seductive, and sexy purple mistress i posted above; alliteration is also very sexy)
